Alright, this is a code format outside of my expertise to create. It's certainly doable, but will require the input or more 'post-savvy' individuals. I suggest one of two things: 1) Ask on for assistance. Your mileage may vary, as almost everyone there is donating their time out of goodwill and generosity 2) Contact a reseller in your area.
A list can be found I don't believe they are tied to a geographic region, so shop around to compare prices. Do be prepared for a bit of sticker shock though. I've seen/heard of some outfits charging as much as $500 just to move the placement of an 'M8' (coolant 'on' command).
The software Xilog Plus from the SCM Group is used to manage the CNC-machining centres with numerical control. It consists of two pieces of software, which.
However, I've personally worked with one reseller who treated me very fair and made a ton of edits for a reasonable price.
Hello contributors, I have CNC from SCM, Record 240, with Xilog Plus, i edit manually the nc programs. I do not made programs via postprocesor I use drawings made with autocad 2007, how can i the use the postprocesor from Xilog plus ( i have it in the xilog this postprocesor, but i can recognize it).I need some information for the beginner, please. I want to import drawings from autocad to xilog plus to make NC programs (with postprocesor ) and after that to export to CNC controler. I need these all instruction to operate Xilog plus, please Greetings Utzu.
Hello Utzu and welcome to the forums, I am not familiar with the brands you mentioned but still will try to help you, right now I have more questions for you than answers, so please be patient as we try to understand each other and get to the solution you need. The following example uses well-known brands of equipment, I mention those brands only for illustrative purposes, I don't sell or represent any of them.
Let's try to think of this situation as a chain: In the beginning you have an AutoCad drawing, you open that drawing with MasterCam and there you ask for the generation of G-code based on a Fanuc controller, let's say model 0M (x, y and z), so MasterCam will generate the G-instructions based on the 0M special postprocessor that it has built inside among 100 others. MasterCam will ask you to save the list of instructions (part-program in G-code) into a directory. Once you have that saved, you open it with another program let's say Predator. Once opened, you ask Predator to send that program to your machine, which has the Fanuc 0M controller, the machine receives it and then you just push the cycle start button and you're done. In this example I mentioned 3 software brands, one for each function, but you must know there are computer programs that can do all 3 functions.
Now, in order to start comparing this 'chain' to what you have and get or form a close-up picture, please answer all of the following: a) What kind of machine do you have, is it a lathe, a mill, a router, a laser? B) What material(s) do you mainly cut, steel, wood, plastic, sheet metal? C) Is SCM the brand of your machine?
D) Is record 240 the model of your machine or is it the model of your machine's controller? E) Is Xilog Plus the software that controls the movements of your machine or is it just a software that you have installed into a computer to generate G-code for your machine, or does it make both functions? I am sorry if you think these are too many questions, but I need to know as much as possible in order to try to help you, and why not learn something in the process too.
Ok, I've worked on some NUM controlled machines in the past, however, I have not messed around with their part-programming or program-transfer processes. If I understand this situation correctly, the problem is that the software Xilog Plus, installed on your office PC, cannot generate a part program based on the especially tailored post processor for Xilog 3 MMi Routolink, which is installed on the CNC machine. All this just because it does not recognize the post processor. Is that correct, is that the problem? Have you tried generating the same program choosing ANOTHER post processor, just to test if Xilog Plus works ok with others? Last edited by Sinumeriko; 04-04-11 at 07:49 AM.
